When was the last time you colored in the sun for a coloring book? When you were five, or just yesterday? Don’t worry, we all have our hobbies.

It has been a huge dispute on if the sun should be colored in yellow or orange. The problem is, both colors aren’t the color of the sun. If you look up in the sky (please don’t) you can clearly see that the sun is white, because I hope you have eyes.

In the mistaken book, The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt, the orange and yellow crayon fight on whether one should be the color of the sun. The color white never gets used and the sun is the perfect place for it.

From Drew Daywalt's book The Day the Crayon's Quite

If you want to make a nice realistic drawing you can make a white sun against the blue sky. If you want a cartoonish drawing you can make a black outline and suddenly it is a cartoon. It even works in coloring books because of their color in technique.

Still not convinced, what else can I say? WHITE IS THE COLOR OF THE SUN! Walk outside, look up and see that the sun is WHITE. Not yellow, not orange, not even green, (and yes, not blue) but white.

If you hate going outside, just look up a picture of the sun in the sky. What does it look like? It is white! WHITE! Also, don’t trust sunsets! They have a habit of making random colors that may or may not look really pretty but that aside the point.

Now that you have read this you better go color the sun white from now on. And give white something to do, that poor color…

Now that’s someone who really needs a hobby.
