The Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Colonials have a rich tradition in athletics, with three state Boys’ Basketball Championships, a state Baseball Championship, two individual state Wrestling Champions and a girls' state Tennis Champion, as well as numerous individual state championships in Swimming and Track and Field. PWHS sponsors 30 interscholastic teams, 15 each for boys and for girls. The Colonials compete in the PIAA District I and the Suburban One League American Conference. Additionally, the Colonial Middle School Patriots are a member of the PIAA District I, Montgomery County Scheduling Group.

In addition to team awards, seven members were named UCA All-Americans, with Kate Wakefield and Daisy Micarsos also receiving Pin It Forward awards for being positive influences at the camp.
Seventy-five girls from grade four through grade eight worked on their volleyball skills with help from members of the PWHS Girls Volleyball.
For the first week of summer break, 30 PWHS student counselors helped 145 campers develop their soccer skills while having fun.
PWHS swimmer returned to the sport after a 10-year hiatus and will compete for the Pioneers in college.
The PWHS senior will play volleyball for the Knights next season.
