Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society recently celebrated its first inductees in more than 20 years. The evening ceremony included student performances and sentiments about what music means to them.
“Everyone performed so well, and I thought it was a great opportunity to show off the musical talent at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School,” said PWHS senior Hannah Loewenstern. “Being in the music program has given me so much, and I am so excited to be able to give back through service as co-president.”
Tri-M is the only national honor society for high school student musicians and gives the members performance and community service opportunities.
“Currently, chapter #6779 is still crafting their service goal, but, in the meantime, PW Tri-Mers can be seen assisting all district-held concerts and musical events, while finding ways to incorporate performances where there are none,” said PWHS Orchestra Director and advisor Maria O’Connor. “Students are eager to get started in taking something they love so much and sharing it with others.”
