Conshohocken Elementary School students Savannah Thomas and Kathryn Tyson will start off the summer with a new pair of wheels, thanks to the generosity of the Conshohocken Police Department and local business owner Chuck Hemcher.

Savannah, a third-grader, and Kathryn, a kindergartener, were selected by their teachers to receive the bikes because they have consistently demonstrated respect, responsibility, kindness, and other positive qualities that are part of the school’s Coyote Characteristics.

Conshohocken Police representatives delivered the bikes to the school on June 10 and congratulated the students.

The bike giveaway is an annual tradition that is part of a partnership between the school and police department, which teaches students about bike safety every year. Bikes are donated to the police by Chuck Hemcher, owner of the Great American Pub.
