Chloe Balcer and Andrew Walters

Chloe will be participating on French horn and Andrew on clarinet. They were chosen for the festival after a challenging and competitive audition process.

“I am proud that their hard work and dedication resulted in qualifying to attend District Band, which means that they are among the top high school musicians in Bucks and Montgomery counties,” said PWHS Band Director Tonia Kaufman.

The one-day PMEA District 11 Band Festival will take place on Friday, January 28, at Pennsbury High School East. The group will rehearse during the day and perform a concert at 7 p.m. under the baton of guest conductor Dr. Trish Cornett, Director of Bands at Temple University.

“I am excited for them to have an opportunity to work with Dr. Cornett,” added Mrs. Kaufman. “She selected an exciting program including Old Home Days by Charles Ives, Terpsichorean Dances by Jodie Blackshaw, and Mother of a Revolution by Omar Thomas.”

Tickets for the concert are available at the door.
