Board welcomes new members, elects new president

L to r: Adam Schupack, Rosemary Northcutt, Judge Carolyn Nichols, Eunice Franklin-Becker and Jennifer Dow.The Colonial School District welcomed four newly elected School Board members at the Board's annual reorganization meeting on December 4. Jennifer Dow, Eunice Franklin-Becker, Rosemary Northcutt and Adam Schupack were sworn into office by Judge Carolyn Nichols. Also at the reorganization meeting, the Board elected Felix Raimondo to serve a one-year term as president. He succeeds Susan Moore who had severed as president the previous four years.

"I am honored and looking forward to working with everyone on the Board in fulfilling our mission of providing the best possible education we can for our children," Mr. Raimondo said. "I also look forward to working with the superintendent and administration to providing a caring and nurturing environment in which all of our children have the opportunity to fulfill their potential."

Mr. Raimondo also acknowledged Mrs. Moore for her service to the Board as president.

Leslie Finegold was elected to serve a one-year term as vice president.

The Colonial Board of School Directors generally meets the third Thursday of each month. All meetings are posted on the District website and are open to the public.
