Incoming 9th graders and new Plymouth Whitemarsh High School students are invited to attend an upcoming New Student Orientation event being held from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26.
The day will begin with a welcome assembly and include guided tours of the building and the opportunity to walk a student's schedule. Orientation Leaders (students in grades 10-12) will be available to guide and answer any questions students might have about high school.
Activities Fair
An Activities Fair will also be part of the day, allowing students to learn about the many clubs and sports available at the high school. Lunch
A picnic lunch with pizza and snacks will be held in the stadium. Please contact Jessica Mancuso, jmancuso@colonialsd.org, with any dietary restrictions. PW spirit wear and other school store items will be on sale during the orientation, as well as during Parent Night (see information below).
Transportation and Arrival/Dismissal
Students may begin arriving at Gym West (use the Bicentennial/Dombrow Drive entrance off Germantown Pike) at 7:15 a.m. Busing will also be available for students who report to the following locations:
- Colonial Middle School at 6:50 a.m.
- Fellowship House in Conshohocken at 7 a.m.
- Ridge Park Elementary School at 7:05 a.m.
Students who ride the bus should register by Aug. 18 using a transportation request form. Click here for the form.
Parents/guardians should pick students up at 1 p.m. as there will NOT be transportation home after the event.
If your child cannot attend on Aug. 26, he or she will report to school as normal on the first day of school, which is Monday, Aug. 30. Additional questions can be directed to Ms. Heather King, Assistant Principal, at hking@colonialsd.org.
Parent Night
Parents/guardians are invited to learn more from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School's administration, counselors and class sponsors from 6 to 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria on Wednesday, Aug. 25. The evening will include information on the PWHS Vision and Goals, Post-Secondary Connections, Programs, Services and much more.
