Research conducted across multiple disciplines has shown that tinkering, the playful approach of discovery, experimentation and hands-on experience is beneficial to everyone. The tinkering that occurs in the PWHS makerspace supports Colonial School District’s efforts in supporting students as they grow as 21st century learners, providing them with the space and resources to work cooperatively, as well as posing and answering questions to guide their learning.

The PWHS makerspace is a space for students to gather to invent, experiment, and learn, using technology not found in typical classrooms. In addition to being open during the library's regular hours, special demonstration and interactive sessions are scheduled for I-Block and after school.
