PWHS music program featured in story on 6abc

The Philadelphia Sound Exchange is the brainchild of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) Alum Mike Schaller. The program brings city and suburban high school students together to use music as a common language for engaging in conversations around race, equity and social justice.

Schaller reached out to PWHS Band Director Tonia Kaufman to pilot the program with KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy Charter School in West Philadelphia in 2018-2019. PWHS will be one of 10 schools partnering in the program this year.
