Plymouth Whitemarsh High School PTSO Meeting Minutes – May 13, 2026
In attendance: Dr. Bacani, Principal; Mr. Young, Teacher Representative; PTSO Officers Carrie Dobrowolski, Jeannette Wood, Diana Rickert, Jennie Cheyne, Liz Shull, Jennie Cheyne, Dianne Manges; Parents Ellen Glendinning, Rita DiCarlo; Students Leo N., Melissa P., Willie W.
Principal’s Report: Dr. Bacani
· PW is excited for a busy year-end schedule as we enter the “home stretch” as both AP and Keystone exams have been taking place this past week
· This year has seen the biggest number of PW teams and athletes advance beyond regular season in many sports – Congratulations athletes and coaches!
· This marks the first year that all four grades will be doing a class trip: Freshman 4/26 at HersheyPark, Sophomores 4/28 at Six Flags, Juniors 4/27, and the Senior Trip to Disney 4/10
· Seniors will prepare for commencement starting with meetings this coming week
· May 28th marks the Senior Swim at Ply-Mar as well as Senior Awards ceremony; Graduation is June 10th
· Thank you PTSO for contributing toward additional outdoor student seating for this year’s gift-to-school
· PW Staff will celebrate teacher retirements (4) as well as end of year hiring, goals, and budget for the 26-27 school year and beyond
· Dr. Bacani thanked the Senior parents who have been active on the PTSO: Carrie Dobrowolski, Jeannette Wood, Jennie Cheyne, and Ellen Glendinning.
Teachers’ Report: Mr. Young
· Student “Show Case” featuring various PW students/talent-events took place 5/8 at PW’s cafeteria (no cost to attend), co-sponsored by the PTSO
· Mrs. Lynch reports that the Main Line College Fair, one of the larger college fairs in our area, will take place at Villanova University on May 27 at the Finneran Pavilion, 800 E. Lancaster Ave, Villanova. Hours 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
· On behalf of the Teachers, Mr. Young thanked the PTSO for the Teacher Appreciation breakfast that we hosted on Friday 5/8

· Students are excited for year-end, especially upcoming Junior and Senior proms
· On Monday 5/18 PW’s Culture-oriented Clubs will host a Club Fair with slides and information
PTSO Business:
· Our Gift to School will contribute toward additional outdoor seating for students
· PTSO is finalizing details for the Senior Picnic which takes place the week of Graduation. A donation link is available on the PTSO Facebook page PWHS PTSO – in-kind items and monetary donations are in need, thank you in advance!
· Senior Lawn Sign pick-ups have gone well
· PTSO is sponsoring the Parking Raffle for Graduation; raffle will close on 6/1. $5/chance, two families will win a premier parking spot!
· PTSO Officers for the 26=27 School Year will be: President Diana Rickert, Vice President Rita DiCarlo, Treasurer Liz Shull, Secretary Dianne Manges.

· All families are encouraged to support the PTSO with an annual fee of $40. The $40 PTSO Fee can be sent via Venmo: @PWPTSO (please include your email) or see the QR code on the PTSO Facebook Page: PWHS PTSO
· The PWHS PTSO is proud to sponsor many activities such as: Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day, the Colletta Scholarship, Sunshine Fund (for occasional student or class needs), the Senior Picnic, and a gift-to-school. We also provide volunteer support for events like Homecoming, Powder Puff Football, Senior Picnic, and more. Last year’s gift to school included a new outdoor P.A. System and fulfilled the second-half of the funding for the mural in the main hallway, painted by PW alum and professional graphic designer, Phoebe Cornog, and PW art students!

· The PTSO meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Next meeting will be in September
