2024 Foundation Day celebrated Colonial schools
Families and friends from the Colonial School District gathered on Sunday for a fun-filled afternoon at Foundation Day, an event dedicated to celebrating Colonial schools and showcasing the efforts of the Colonial School District Education Foundation (CSDEF) in supporting students.
The event featured a variety of entertainment options for children, including inflatables, a sand art and craft area, face painting, a touch-a-truck display, and a character meet-and-greet. The performance area was a highlight with appearances by the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) Marching Colonials, Black Cultural Awareness Club, and Cheerleaders, as well as the PW Spartan Cheerleaders. Martial arts demonstrations from DeStolfo’s Premier Martial Arts and Action Karate also drew crowds. PWHS alumni enjoyed reconnecting with former classmates in the All Alumni Picnic area.
“It was exciting to see people of all ages enjoying the day with their families—and to share with everyone how the Colonial School District Education Foundation gives back to the schools,” said CSDEF President Annette Swartz.
During the event, the CSDEF recognized John Kennedy Subaru for its continued generosity, having donated more than $142,000 to Colonial students through the Foundation since 2017. The dealership also presented the Foundation with a check for $21,618 from their annual Share The Love campaign.
The Colonial School District Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Colonial schools, teachers, students, and families. Their annual campaign, Food For Thought, runs from November through the end of December. Since 2022, this initiative has provided more than 4,800 school lunches and raised over $16,000 to assist families facing food insecurity within the district.
