PWHS sends two to 2026 PMEA Region 6 Chorus
Katie Abai and Ace Cratin

Congratulations to Plymouth Whitemarsh High School seniors Katie Abai and Ace Cratin, who participated in the 2026 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Region 6 Chorus.

The soprano and tenor earned their spots through a rigorous audition process at the district level.

On February 19, the pair joined the best singers from Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties for two days of rehearsal that ended in a Saturday morning concert at Neshaminy High School. The ensemble was led by Dr. Dominick DiOrio, who is a professor of music and chair of the department of choral conducting at the University of Indiana Jacobs School of Music.

Music selections performed included George Handel's Music Spread Thy Voice Around from Solomon, Healey Willan's Rise Up, My Love, My Fair One, Melissa Dunphy's We Are The Music Makers, Eric Whitacre's Water Night, Matthew Lyon Hazzard's Metropolis, Dominick D'Orio's Weaver of Eternities, Susan LaBarr's The Wisdom of The Moon, Geung Kroeker-Lee's Walk Out On The Water, and Rollo Dillworth's Freedom's Plow.

As part of the regional festival, the vocalists re-auditioned for the PMEA All-State Chorus. Congratulations to Ace Cratin, who will be continuing to the state festival in Mt. Pocono, PA, in April.
