PWHS Indoor Guard clinches undefeated season and division championship

In a triumphant return to the competitive circuit, the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Indoor Guard seized the spotlight with their 2024 show titled "You Can Sail Away." Set to a cover of Christopher Cross's hit "Sailing," the show captivated audiences and judges alike, propelling the guard to an undefeated season and securing the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network Scholastic Regional A Championship.

“My favorite part of this year was the fact that it was our first year back competing since the 2020 season, and we managed to be the undefeated champions,” said PWHS senior Jordyn Goss.

The team was promoted to a higher field of competition twice during the season due to the skill of the students and strength of the show design. They received a score of 93.960 at the championship, more than three points ahead of their next closest competitor. 

“I think the most rewarding thing about this journey has been seeing how motivated and excited everyone got with each new win and promotion,” said PWHS senior Audrey Paluszka. “Winning is awesome, of course, but the real rewarding part was seeing how much we were capable of after knowing nothing in the beginning of the season about how we’d do. Getting to watch my teammates be motivated by our successes—and even getting motivated by them myself—was really special.”

The Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network is the premier color guard circuit in the region with groups competing from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, New York, and Connecticut. The championships were held at the Cure Arena in Trenton, New Jersey, on April 20-21.

The PWHS Indoor Guard is under the direction of Bobbey Biddle. He is assisted by Sami Kessler and Patrick Orlando.
