by Matt Licwinko, PWHS Class of 2024

Swimming excellence for Plymouth Whitemarsh High School continued over the weekend at the Suburban One League Liberty Division diving championships, where all but one medal spot were taken by divers from PW’s best.

Plymouth Whitemarsh stood atop both rankings by the end of the event—almost doubling the Upper Dublin girls score and nearly quadrupling the score of the second place team in the boys event.

Kiernan and the PW Girls shine

Sophomore Riley Kiernan was the headliner for an impressive run in the girls championship. She led the table with a score of 352.75, claiming a gold medal and a spot in the next round of competition. Joining her on the podium was freshman Annabel Ferhat with a score of 305.80. Seniors Emily Reilly and Damaris Bell also scored high, placing them at the fifth and sixth spots respectively. It was an extremely successful event for the girls, giving them a dominant win over their counterparts

Boys Diving remains in their own league

PW truly dominated the competition in the boys event. Junior Jed Alderfer won the gold with a score of 347.60. Right alongside him was freshman Austin Alderfer who took silver with a score of 331.30. Rounding out the podium to complete the sweep was Morgan Hulitt, who scored 329.05. Also joining his teammates was Dominic Benvenuti, who placed fifth. The boys team ended the day with 67 points; Upper Dublin was the next closest with 15.
