Plymouth Whitemarsh High School's Class of 2024 celebrated at commencement
Colonial School District celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2024 at the annual commencement ceremony held June 12 at Colonial Field.
Three-hundred thirty-eight seniors accepted diplomas following speeches from Class of 2024’s Maya Hockfield, Dr. Jason Bacani, principal; and Dr. Michael Christian, Superintendent. Poet Laureate Grace Lendacky also recited her poem and clarinetist Tilly McLaughlin performed the Alma Mater. Class President Shane Felgoise addressed his classmates and also presented the class gift, which will be a new electronic sign for the high school.
Here are some interesting facts about this year’s graduating class:

88 percent are going to four- or two-year colleges/universities

12 percent are going into the military, entering the job market, or considering options through a gap year

The Class of 2024 has received a one-year total of $2,867,206 in scholarship and award money, and a four-year total of $11,851,608

38 percent of the class will graduate with a weighted cumulative GPA of 4.0 or higher

The Class of 2024 includes two National Merit Scholarship Finalists and five National Merit Scholarship Commended students
