Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Unified Bocce team members win bronze medals

The Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Unified Bocce team wrapped up their season by bringing home bronze medals from the regional Special Olympics Unified Sports tournament held on March 4 in Gulph Mills.
The bronze medal finish demonstrates the dedication the team has put in between this year and last, when they finished in sixth place. Through teamwork and skill improvement, the team went 2-1 in this year’s tournament, losing only to the team that won it all. The team earned their chance to compete at the regional level after securing the gold medal in the Lower Montgomery County league for the second year in a row.
“It’s been such a pleasure to coach these student-athletes,” said Coach Dana Moyer. “Though they are uber-competitive and give it everything they've got, all the time, they are the kindest and most fun-loving young people I know.”
