District gets excited for Eagles home opener
Many students and staff throughout the Colonial School District were wearing Philadelphia Eagles gear Thursday to celebrate the season's first home football game against the Minnesota Vikings.
“I’m wearing Eagles, because I love the Eagles,” said Maggie Mastin, second grader at Whitemarsh Elementary School (WE).

The timing of the Eagles game made it a fun way for students and teachers to bond during the first few days of class.
“It brings the school together, because all of us are wearing Eagles,” said WE second grader Logan Gee. “I love the Eagles. They’re the best team.”

Classmate Grayson O’Brien, who declared that the Eagles were going to win by 15 points, agreed.
“It makes me happy to see everyone wearing Eagles,” he said.
Participation in the dress up days is always optional, and fans of other teams also took advantage of the day to show off their allegiances.
“I love being a Giants fan, because it makes me different,” said WE second grader Grace Beschner, who was wearing a t-shirt promoting the New York team. “My whole family loves the Giants!”
Dress up days throughout the year usually follow themes, such as wearing neon colors in elementary school to reflect a "bright future" or wearing college gear at the high school during one of the days of homecoming week.
