Colonial Middle School students calculate their way through competition

Colonial Middle School placed third overall in the Valley Forge Chapter Mathcounts competition held recently in Lansdale, and at least one of the team members is headed on to the state level of competition in Harrisburg.

Seventh-grader Andrew Zhong made it through several rounds of individual competition to place third overall in the individual results for the Valley Forge Chapter of Mathcounts. He will travel to Harrisburg on March 23 to compete against other students from across Pennsylvania.

Andrew was part of the four-member team from Colonial that included Jason Stutman, Brady Fox, and Tyler Yuen. The team placed third overall and was awarded the Most Improved Team in the Valley Forge Chapter.
