13 swimmers qualify for District competition

Congratulations and good luck to the swimmers competing in the District 1 meet on February 23-24 in York, Pennsylvania.

Girls:

• Talia Piacitelli (sophomore) 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay

• Sammy Moore (sophomore) 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay

• Carolyn Forgione (sophomore) 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay

• Gia Guess (junior) 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay

Carolyn and Samantha are returning to districts for the second year in a row, while Gia and Talia are making their district debut.

Boys:

As the Suburban One League Liberty Division champions, the boys brought home 10 medals:

• 200 Medley Relay: 1st place, Wyatt McDevitt, Brennan Coyle, Aidan Smith, Gavin Kriebel

• 200 Individual Medley: 3rd place Alex Babka

• 50 Freestyle: 1st place Brennan Coyle

• 200 Freestyle Relay: 3rd place, Brennan Coyle, Erik Babka, Dryden Dafoe, Alex Babka.

• Diving: 1st Jed Alderfer, 2nd Austin Alderfer, 3rd Morgan Hulitt

• 500 Freestyle: 2nd place Dryden Dafoe

• 100 Backstroke: 3rd place Wyatt McDevitt

• 100 Breaststroke: 1st place Brennan Coyle (broke school record)
