Congratulations to Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) Senior Dylan Gooneratne who brought home the first place title for the second year in a row at the 2020 Suburban One League Golf Championship at the Five Ponds Golf Course in Warminster on Tuesday, September 29.

Dylan had a double bogey on hole eight and a bogey on hole 11, but made up for it with birdies on holes five, nine and 12 to end with an even par 71 — the same score that won him the title in 2019 despite playing the last three holes this year in the driving rain. With that score, Gooneratne tied Central Bucks West's John Lee for first place and a spot at the District Championships.

PWHS Junior Evan Rosenstein tied for 12th place with a 76 and will be joining Gooneratne at Districts.

"It was a great day for both Dylan and Evan," said PWHS Golf Coach Jeff Kavanagh. "I am very excited for them as they both dedicate a lot of time practicing, play the game the right way and are all around great kids."

The District Tournament will be held on October 5-6 at Turtle Creek Golf Course in Limerick.
