Nine named Commended Students by the College Board

Four students sitting in chairs and five students standing behind them in front of a large National Merit Scholar plaque board.Nine Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) seniors were recognized for their “exceptional academic promise” and named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The seniors were among approximately 1.5 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools who entered the scholarship program by taking the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of students. Commended students placed among the top 50,000 scorers, or top 3.3 percent, on the 2018 PSAT/NMSQT®.

The Commended Students are Tara Al-Saleem, Fatima Al-Sammak, Sydney Borislow, Matthew Dolin, Rachel Kalani, Samantha Loewenstern, Aubrey Manas, Jake Valentine and Max Wittenberg.
