Conshohocken Elementary honors local father and son with Friend of Education Award

As part of American Education Week, Jack and Brian (Butch) Coll shared the history of the schools in Conshohocken to the elementary students. At the end of the presentation, Conshohocken Elementary School (CE) surprised the father and son with their annual Friend of Education Award.

"As we celebrate American Education Week, we are grateful for the quality public schools in our community," said Principal Denise Marks. "We're also proud to take this opportunity to celebrate community volunteers who help make Conshohocken Elementary School great."

Students in Mrs. Donovan's class honored the pair by listing some of the ways the two help out in the Conshohocken community, such as volunteering, helping families in need, keeping the community informed and documenting the borough's history.

"Thank you for this. We're touched," said Jack Coll after receiving the award. "We always supported this school, because it's the best school." He also added this advice, "Be a leader in your community."

Brian Coll attended Conshohocken Elementary School when it was a kindergarten through fifth grade building. The Colls own a frame shop and run the Conshystuff website, in addition to volunteering with many organizations, such as the Colonial Neighborhood Council and the Conshohocken Library.
