The Colonial School District K-12 Art Teachers invite you to see how today’s students are rethinking how they experience the world through their art at the Annual District Art Show. Opening night is Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m. on the first floor of the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) East Wing. The art show will feature selected artwork from students of all grade levels District-wide.
Colonial students are encouraged to stop, see the world and “rethink” their views in order to have more innovative idea and create new things. They learn that it is their many different thoughts, views and opinions which allow them to find creative and constructive solutions. The result of that process is the theme of this year’s show and is aptly depicted in the Art Show Invitation designed by eighth grader Tess Woscyna.
On display will be elementary students’ first self-portraits, work from recycled materials by middle school students, and views of the world as captured through the lenses of high school photography students and more.
The opening event will also include collaborative art activities for everyone led by PWHS Art Club students, live music and refreshments.
Come to opening night, celebrate the importance of art in our schools, view and enjoy the work with the artists themselves on Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m. on the first floor of the PWHS East Wing and Large Group Instruction Room (formerly the East Cafeteria).
The art show will remain on display through April 13.
