  • If the community-based mental health worker is new to CSD, and delivering services in CSD for the first time, the worker must submit three clearances that are less than one year old.

    • Child Abuse: The worker may not begin delivering services at the school until they have submitted a Child Abuse clearance that is less than one-year old.

    • PA State: The worker may not begin delivering services at the school until they have submitted a PA State clearance that is less than one-year old.

    • FBI: The worker may not begin delivering services at the school until they have submitted an FBI clearance that is less than one-year old. Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) regulations regarding adults who have direct interaction with children in schools require that their FBI fingerprints are processed with the code 1KG6XN. Community-based mental health providers will need to complete FBI fingerprints (registering with the PDE code) to begin service in the district.

  • If the same worker continues to provide services in the District via the same behavioral health agency the following school year, the worker will be asked to submit copies of current clearances, although they not need be less than one-year old. Noting that behavioral health agencies collect updated clearances on various time frames, this enables the Colonial School District to catch updates.

  • If the worker leaves employment at the behavioral health agency and returns to deliver services in the District via the same or other agency at a later time, the District would address this as if the worker was new to the Colonial School District and request that all three clearances not be more than one year old.
