Paying for Meals
How much are school meals?
- Elementary school lunches: $2.85
- Middle school lunches: $3.05
- High school tiered lunches: $3.10, $3.50 and $3.75
Thanks to funding from the state, breakfast is free for all students in the Colonial School District.
How do I prepay my child's meal account?
- You may deposit money into your child’s meal account to pay for lunch. Send a check or cash into school with your child or pay online through www.myschoolbucks.com. Money brought in for lunch will be deposited in its entirety into your child’s lunch account. Please list your child’s full name on the envelope. If sending a check, please make it out to “CSD Food Services Department” and include your child’s full name and student ID# in the memo section.
- The student will simply enter their designated pin number into the pin pad or use the finger scanner at the cafeteria register when making a purchase. The amount of the meal is then automatically withdrawn from the account.
- Automated messages will be sent biweekly to update you if your child’s account is low or falls into the negative. If you use www.myschoolbucks.com, you can set low balance reminders and also monitor what your child purchases. Middle school and high school student balances may also be checked via PowerSchool. Additionally, you may call the school cafeteria at any time to request a balance or update.
- At the end of the school year, all remaining balances will be carried over to the next year, even if your child moves to another school in the District. If your child is graduating or leaving the District, you can request to receive a full refund. Click here to make a request.
