Facilities & Operations

With seven schools, 360+ classrooms and more than 100 acres of ground to maintain, the Facilities Department works hard to make sure that our students and teachers have a functional, clean and safe atmosphere for teaching, learning and playing.

• Our dedication to “going green” means that our schools take advantage of such resources as solar energy and energy-efficient lighting, and our custodial staff uses cleaning products and equipment that are friendly to the environment.
• State-of-the-art turf and natural grass athletic fields host community groups, Plymouth Whitemarsh High School teams and collegiate action through a partnership between Colonial School District and Chestnut Hill College.
• With more than 100 security cameras, monitored alarm systems and secured hallway access doors to help them keep students and staff safe, the Security team collectively has more than 100 years of police experience and fosters a strong relationship with the three municipal police departments and the Montgomery County Juvenile Probation Department that serve the Colonial School District.
