Following nearly three years of construction, the new middle school opened to students on March 7.
Colonial Middle School Building Project
With an enrollment increase of more than 300 students at Colonial Middle School (CMS) expected in the next five to seven years, the Colonial School District and the Colonial Board of School Directors have built a new middle school to serve student learners.
The building opened to students on March 7, 2022. Work will continue at the site into fall of 2022.

CMS Building Project News

After a brief layoff, workers were back on site the week of April 13.

Workers are installing foundations for the three-story classroom section. The first steel should be erected next month.

The construction site is being prepared for the installation of the building foundation.

The new 232,000 square foot building is designed to accommodate 1,500 students and will tentatively open in the fall of 2021.
