Bob Fahler became principal of Colonial Middle School (CMS) in February of 2002. During his tenure, he has promoted two daily goals for himself, his staff, and his students: Be Nice and Do Your Best. He and his staff have pledged to make all decisions based on the philosophy of "What's best for kids."
Mr. Fahler came to the Colonial School District as assistant principal at CMS in 2002. Previously, he taught high school math in the Northampton Area School District. Mr. Fahler also coached high school varsity football and basketball while at Northampton. Additionally, he served as an assistant basketball coach at Parkland High School.
During his 18 year teaching career at Northampton, Fahler was a member of the Student Assistance Team, Principal's Steering Committee, and taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. Mr. Fahler holds a B.S. and an instructional II teaching certification from Muhlenberg College. He holds a M.S. and Administration Certification from Marywood University.
Phil Chang was named assistant principal at Colonial Middle School in July 2014. Prior to joining the administrative team, he taught Health and Physical Education at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) for more than a decade, where he was also responsible for writing curriculum, assisting department members in implementing Differentiated Instruction practices in the classroom and sponsoring the PWHS Classes of 2007 and 2011. Chang founded the PWHS Boys Lacrosse team in 2004 and served as Head Coach. Under his direction, the team qualified for District 1 playoffs every year since its inception and was Suburban One American Champions in 2011 and 2012. He was also a member of the PWHS football coaching staff where he served as defensive coordinator.
At Colonial Middle School, Chang is responsible for creating and overseeing the master schedule, serving as athletic director and supervising the Science, Social Studies, World Languages and Music departments.
Chang earned a B.S.Ed. in Sports Medicine and M.T. in Health and Physical Education from the University of Virginia, and he received his K-12 Administrative Certificate from Temple University.
Tara Collice joined the Colonial Middle School administrative team in August 2012. She has held numerous leadership positions since joining the Colonial School District as a third-grade teacher at Plymouth Elementary (PE) School in 2002, and was named a Master Teacher in 2005. Collice moved to Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) in 2008 to serve as literacy coordinator. She served on the School Improvement Teams at both PE and PWHS, the District Improvement Team, the District-wide Curriculum Council, the District Teacher Supervision and Evaluation Committee and as co-chair of the District-wide Professional Development Committee.
Collice has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Holy Family University since 2002. She holds a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Temple University, and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification and an M.Ed. in Reading with Reading Certification from Holy Family University. She also holds Early Childhood and Elementary instructional certifications.
