Buildings

The Colonial School District encompasses seven school buildings, including four kindergarten through third grade schools, one for students in grades four and five, a middle school for students in grades six through eight, and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School for grades nine through 12.

Each building provides sizeable classrooms that are equipped with the latest technology and teaching aids. Electronic key cards are used to access each building during the school day. Access to each building is also controlled electronically with a state-of-the-art system that allows staff to visibly identify who is entering the building. Each school has its own cafeteria to provide students and staff with nutritious hot and cold options for breakfast and lunch. Colonial students also may attend the Central Montco Technical High School located in Plymouth Township.

Class Size/Enrollment

The average class size throughout the District is 18 to 23 students. The current student to teacher ratio is less than 13:1. The District provides transportation, through contracted providers, to and from school for the majority of students.

Teachers in the Colonial School District are seasoned professionals who care about their students. Ninety-two percent of Colonial educators have at least a master’s degree and nearly half have more than 10 years of teaching experience.
