Colonial School District students of all grade levels learn the importance of being a part of a larger, caring community. Though not mandatory, many students elect to participate in classroom and voluntary projects to help those less fortunate.
Among the many projects and organizations and causes the District supports, each Colonial school has one month per school year designated as Colonial Neighborhood Council (CNC) Food Drive month where students and staff collect canned goods and food products to donate to the CNC. Giving Back to the Community
Members of the Colonial Middle School National Junior Honor Society and Student Council participate in a number of community service projects each year, including collecting goods for food and clothing drives, and raising money for area organizations in need.
